Site Plan: Tools
The drawing toolbar sits right at the bottom of your canvas screen. This guide explains how to use each tool to add walls, place devices, and run cable paths on your map layout.
How to Open the Site Plan
Section titled “How to Open the Site Plan”- Open the Page: Go to your main project page and click or tap the Site Plan button at the top of the screen to open the designer canvas.
Guide to Toolbar Tools
Section titled “Guide to Toolbar Tools”1. Walls and Structures
Section titled “1. Walls and Structures”- Walls Tool: Lets you place structural walls. Click the dropdown menu to choose between two styles:
- Primary Wall: Used to outline your main buildings.
- Secondary Wall: Used to mark out verandahs, corridors, and other outer areas.
- Wall Pen Tool: Lets you draw walls as free lines. This is perfect for sketching out quick rooms, inside partitions, or unique shapes.
- Door Tool: Click this tool and tap anywhere on a drawn wall line to add a door. Tapping an already placed door opens a settings menu to:
- Rename the door.
- Flip Swing: Change the door swing direction (clockwise or counterclockwise).
- Flip Side: Switch the door opening direction (inside or outside).
- Delete the door from the wall.
2. Cameras & Devices
Section titled “2. Cameras & Devices”- CCTV (Camera) Tool: Tap anywhere on your plan to place a security camera. Tapping an already placed camera opens a menu where you can:
- Rename the camera.
- Rotate: Turn the camera direction by 45 degrees using the two rotate buttons.
- Cable Length: Add an extra manual cable length measurement (like a service loop) addition to your drawn wiring paths.
- Take Photo: Turns on your phone camera so you can snap a real photo of the physical location. This photo will show up in your Camera Previews.
- Delete the camera.
- DVR/NVR Tool: Tap to drop a recording unit onto your drawing canvas. Tapping it opens a menu to rename it, set an extra manual cable length, or delete it.
- Monitor Tool: Tap to place display screens on your drawing. Tap the screen unit again to rename it or delete it.
3. Networking & Custom Gear
Section titled “3. Networking & Custom Gear”- Switch Tool: Places network switches on your map. Click an existing switch to rename it or delete it.
- Router Tool: Places internet routers on the site map. Click the router to open its menu to rename it or delete it.
- Custom Tool: Use this to place any special equipment that isn’t already included in the standard toolbar icons. Click the placed custom item to rename it or remove it.
4. Cable Paths & Connectors
Section titled “4. Cable Paths & Connectors”-
Routes Tool: Used to draw the cable paths (the physical routes, not the single wires) connecting your devices together.
- To Finish Drawing: Double-click your final endpoint, or click the Finish button on the floating screen menu that appears while drawing.
- To Cancel Drawing: Click the Cancel button on the floating menu to drop the current route line.
- Route Segment Settings: Click on any drawn route segment line to open its options window. You can add an exact segment measurement, delete the whole path line, or tap Manage Enclosures.
- Managing Enclosures: Clicking the Manage button opens a setup window. This window lets you group the cables running through that route segment into protective enclosures like conduits or trunking. Here is how to use it:
- Add an Enclosure: Click the blue + Add enclosure button at the bottom to create a new enclosure slot (like Enclosure 1, Enclosure 2).
- Choose Type and Size: Use the dropdown menus next to the enclosure name to select its material type (like Conduit or Trunking) and its size (like 32x16mm).
- Assign Your Cables: Inside each enclosure block, you will see a list of all the cables passing through that path segment. Check the box next to a cable’s name to assign it to that specific enclosure. Any cables you leave unchecked will automatically sit in the No enclosure section at the bottom.
- Save Your Work: When you are done organizing your cables, click the blue Save enclosures button to apply the changes, or click Cancel to discard them.

Route Connectors Tool: Used to join a new cable route path to a path you already drew. Click on an existing route line to place a connector dot, then start drawing your new route path directly from that point.
5. Power & Utility Tools
Section titled “5. Power & Utility Tools”- Power Tool: Places power devices on your site plan. Use the dropdown option to select your power input type:
- AC Source
- DC Source.
- Tapping a placed power node lets you rename it, toggle its type back and forth between AC and DC, or delete it.
- Comment Tool: Adds clear operational notes to your site map. Click anywhere on the map to open a text box, type your note, and click save to drop a comment dot.
- Click any existing comment dot to view, update, or delete the note text.
6. Canvas View Controls
Section titled “6. Canvas View Controls”- Hand (Pan) Tool: Click this to grab the background and slide your map view around the screen without accidentally shifting your drawn items.
- Zoom Level Tool: Click your percentage display box to adjust your view magnification. It opens a slider to zoom in or out, a Reset button to go back to 100%, and a Fit to View button to instantly snap your entire site drawing cleanly onto your screen space.
