Preferences
Setting up your app preferences helps you customize how the app behaves. The information and choices you select here are used throughout CCTVpilot. Choosing the right settings ensures your layouts, measurements, and fees look exactly how you want them.
How to Access Preferences
Section titled “How to Access Preferences”Follow these simple steps to find and open the preferences page:
- Open Settings:Click your Profile Icon (the button showing your company name and logo) at the bottom of the left sidebar.Tap your Profile Icon at the top of the screen.
Click on Settings (next to the gear icon ⚙️) from the menu that pops up.
Look at the list of tabs on the left side of the screen.
Click on the third tab called Preferences to open the page.
What You Can Customize
Section titled “What You Can Customize”Here is what you can adjust on the App Preferences page:
1. Date Format
Section titled “1. Date Format”- Choose how you want dates to look on your dashboard and documents (for example: yyyy-MM-dd).
2. Measurement Units
Section titled “2. Measurement Units”- Select either Metric (m, cm, mm) or Imperial (ft, in) depending on how you measure your installation sites.
3. Default Site Plan Route Type
Section titled “3. Default Site Plan Route Type”- Set the standard camera cable type used for new cable route paths (such as Cat (Shared)).
4. Project Name Prefix
Section titled “4. Project Name Prefix”- Type in a standard text that automatically starts your project names (for example: CCTV-).
5. Default Installation Fee
Section titled “5. Default Installation Fee”- Set a standard baseline price for your installation fees so you don’t have to type it manually every time.
6. Enable Cover Page
Section titled “6. Enable Cover Page”- Use this toggle switch to automatically add a professional cover page to your generated PDF quotations.
7. App Tour
Section titled “7. App Tour”- Click the Restart Tour button if you ever want to replay the onboarding guide to see how the platform works.
Saving Your Changes
Section titled “Saving Your Changes”When you are done updating your preferences, don’t forget to save:
- Click the orange Save button in the top-right corner of the panel.
- A small message will confirm your changes were saved. All new projects and paperwork will use your updated settings right away.
